Translate your inspiration with ease. Arturia Pigments 3 is the latest version of the highly versatile software synth, birthed from 20 years of sound design expertise and cutting-edge technology. Combining elements from analog and digital synthesis, Pigments provides you with four powerful and cutting-edge sound engines.
The four engines are comprised of: Harmonic, Wavetable, Virtual Analog and Sample & Granular. Using these four state-of-the-art engines you can create virtually any sound you can think of. Each engine has its own unique characteristics and you can blend between two engines to experiment and create to your heart’s content. The analog engine makes use of Arturia’s award-winning analog emulation technology, providing all the warmth and crunch of classic analog gear.
Arturia utilise their award-winning analog emulation to create the best-sounding virtual analog engine. Sine, Saw, Triangle and Square waves are included, complete with their own adjustable parameters.
The Wavetable engine features over 160 wavetables to choose from, providing limitless sound design options. This advanced synth engine allows you to select between any waveform, even giving you the option to import your own. Morph and blend between wavetables to generate new and unique sounds with ease.
Presets from legendary artists and sound designers
Pigments 3 features a wide range of presets, crafted by legendary artists, producers and sound designers. These exclusive, genre-defying presets provide a versatile sound palette for any user. From atmospheric soundscapes to synthwave lead lines and powerful basses, Pigments can cater to any flavour. Version 3 includes 200 new preset sounds, taking the factory soundbank to a total of 1,200 presets
The presets included are created by: Jeremiah Savage, Cubic Spline, Stephanie Schott, Matt Pike, Twolegs Toneworks, Simon Gallifet, Maxime Audfray, Femme and many more.
One of the most unique features is the Ideas icon. Hovering over this icon provides you with recommendations from sound designers, ideal for generating inspiration.
Limitless modulation
The wide variety of parameters and in-depth modulation, provides limitless creative possibilities. Providing new and modern ways to approach modulation, Pigments allows you to modulate virtually any parameter you can see. It provides cutting-edge ways to interact and shape your sounds.
Three envelopes, three LFOs, customisable parameters, randomizers and twin combinators allow you to get in-depth with your sound design. A virtual, on-screen MIDI keyboard allows you to audition sounds, even without an external MIDI controller.
Premium-quality effects
In addition to the in-depth modulation, Pigments provides you with a comprehensive set of premium-grade effects. The stunning collection of effects allow you to sculpt and shape your sounds with added control. Ideal for adding the finishing touches to your sound design, the 18 effects on offer span from a parametric EQ and reverb to a versatile multifilter, bit crushers and the new Multiband Compressor.
Create polyrhythms with the built-in sequencer
Transform your sounds into rhythms and patterns. Pigments 3 also provides you with a powerful sequencer with in-depth settings and parameters for taking total control. The sequencer moves along with the patterns you create, allowing you to see your rhythms and patterns in real-time.
You can even create polyrhythmic animated sequences, providing you with 14 scales for added flexibility. You can even randomize your sequences for added fun, and it can also be useful for creating ideas when inspiration is at a low.
Pigments 3.5
In update 3.5, the door is opened to a whole host of features that will revolutionise your Pigments experience. New features include CrossMod, a function that enables you to cross modulate between engines 1 and 2 offering you versatile customisation options for wild harmonics and ethereal waveforms that will evolve your sonic palette. A new distortion module combines 16 modes of distortion with built-in filtering, so you can achieve unimaginable levels of saturation from light warm drive, to thick, untameable fuzz.
Expansions to popular aspects of Pigments has been included too, featuring an expansion to Comb Filter with the new damped modes; LP6, BP6 and HP6. With these modes, you are now able to filter out frequencies in the feedback loop for the addition of unique sounds. Dozens of new wavetables have also been added offering you the opportunity to craft pad textures like never before inspired by molecular structures, mineral textures and aggressive modern timbres.
What's more Arturia have enhanced the user experience to improve your workflow, including Apple M1 compatibility for Mac users, subtle menu redesigns and an overhaul of the Sample Engine Browser to include subfolders and one-click sample previews making your experience with Pigments streamlined and efficient. With all the new features added comes 150+ new presets so you can get the most out of Pigments straight away allowing you to reach your full creative potential.
