+10dB Channel Strip
Modelled after an industry icon
Modelled on an iconic vintage compressor unit from the 60s, the Channel Strip is comprised of the +10dB Compressor and the +10dB Equalizer combined into a powerful channel strip plugin. Whilst the bundle has the compressor and equalizer included, the Channel Strip allows you to choose between different equalizer modes, so you can audition different settings with the touch of a button.
The world's first model of an ADR Vocal Stresser F769X-R, this legendary unit has been given a digital facelift to enhance the user experience in Version 2. Where the hardware focuses on making changes to multiple parameters simultaneously, using a mouse with a DAW focuses on making changes to single parameters at a time. To simplify the process, Boz have altered the user interface, letting you get the same classic sound in less time. Parameters can be reset by simply double-clicking, input and output gain controls have been included, multiple modes including mid-side and dual-mono are included, up to 8X oversampling is now possible and a global mix knob has been included also.
+10dB Compressor
Based on a legendary hardware compressor from the ‘60s
No matter who you are, chances are you’ve heard this compressor in action. The original hardware compressor is one of the most iconic ever created. It was famed for its versatile nature and unique character. It is also championed as being great for use on vocals as well as drums, delivering a distinctive flavour that hasn't been recreated since; now.
The beautifully recreated GUI (graphical user interface) takes its inspiration from the original with chunky vintage knobs and a retro VU-style meter. The preset bank allows you to capture your inspiration when it strikes, providing you with a range of pre-loaded settings as well as the ability to create and save your own. You can even share presets across operating systems, so if you have a friend who uses a Mac you can still use their presets on your Windows computer. Crafted to be light on CPU, the Boz Plus Compressor can be loaded in multiple instances without your computer lagging.
Expanded design with new settings
Whilst staying true to the original design, Boz has incorporated new and improved tools for modern music-making. Expanding on the hardware version, the digital plugin features a quick and easy way to achieve parallel compression. For that classic NY sound, all you have to do is combine the dry signal with the wet signal – perfect for capturing that legendary drum room sound. The dry passthrough knob allows you to push your compression to the max without distorting the overall dynamics for a truly powerful and crisp sound.
Updated interface for Version 2
The layout of the compressor has been reconfigured. Instead of switches that blend into the interface, the attack parameters of the expander and compressor were placed in line with the related controls on knobs. This ensures the end-user doesn't flip the incorrect attack time switch whilst trying to dial in settings. The labels of the switches are now clickable, meaning you don't need to cycle through each option when choosing which mode you are in on the Compression Expander mode.
+10dB Equalizer
Four band parallel equalisation
The unique four-band configuration allows you to dial in your frequencies with maximum precision. Unlike other EQ plugins, Boz doesn’t use digital pre-warping to capture that classic analog sound. Instead, each filter features symmetrical frequency responses ranging up to the Nyquist frequency, providing a natural high-end response. Each band is accompanied by a switch allowing you to select from different filter types including Duck and Peak.
Stuck for inspiration or just need a quick fix? You can use the wide range of onboard presets to get the sound you want, or as a template to build upon. You can even save your own presets and edit existing ones so you can save and recall them for later use. Get instant visual feedback with the beautiful GUI providing vintage VU metering and design.
Redesigned for modern DAW usage
Enhanced for modern production requirements, the EQ has undergone user-interface changes. The peak and dip switches have been removed and the boost-only gain control was replaced with a boost or cut gain control with a 40dB range. Now, you just have one knob for boosting or cutting, making automation less complicated and making it more intuitive to use.
Reviews
“Like DB, this thing is pure rock’n’roll! We’re loving the way it sounds on drums here.” – Bob Ezrin (Pink Floyd, Peter Gabriel, Kiss)
“The +10db recreates a piece of gear that may not be as ubiquitous as other well-known counterparts, however, the original’s sonic signature has made it a well-kept (until now) secret weapon for me and countless other engineers. From the beautiful smash of the compressor/limiter to the often forgotten, but unique sounding eq section, this plug-in recreates the personality of the hardware with aplomb.” - Neal Avron (Linkin Park, Sara Bareilles, Switchfoot)
“It’s what I had hoped it would be. Big, open, punchy and versatile. Very happy to have it in my arsenal. Thanks DB!” - Ted Jensen, Sterling Sound Mastering (Billy Joel, Green Day, Talking Heads, Norah Jones, Mastodon)
