The Golden Age R1 Tube Mic combines the best of both worlds for a truly unique vintage-style tone, with exceptional audio fidelity. At the heart of the microphone is a trilogy of premium-grade components including classic ribbon transducers with a tube-based buffer amplifier and dual transformers. The result is a highly unique tonal character which can be used for a variety of recording applications. The low-noise tube amplifier is designed to isolate the ribbon and gain make-up transformer from outside noise for optimal audio fidelity.

Variety Of recording applications

With the microphone being jam-packed with premium-grade components, the R1 Tube Mic is highly versatile and suited to recording a variety of audio sources. Its ultra-high SPL capability of 165 dB SPL, and the high-sensitivity ribbon, make it similar to a condenser microphone. This allows the mic to handle a variety of recording applications from strings and acoustic instruments to orchestras, choral groups and even live sound applications. The core of the microphone is comprised of a 50mm long ribbon comprised of 2 micron-thick aluminium foil. The internal shock mount is designed for the ribbon and magnet assembly.

Built to last

The Golden Age R1 Tube Mic not only includes vintage-style components but employs a vintage finish and design, reminiscent of classic tube microphones from the late '70s and early '80s. The microphone comes complete with a dedicated power supply for optimised audio performance and added reliability. It also comes complete with a removable microphone cable for added convenience. Also part of the contents is a robust aluminium flight case, designed to accommodate your microphone and accessories, keeping them protected while on the move on or not in use. It can be used a wide range of mixers and preamps, preferably with a balanced input.
