Offering true stereo operation, the SUCCESSOR operates using matching gain cells which provide ultra-accurate stereo tracking with near-zero offset in both left/right channels. The Carnhill-based design features coupled balanced I/O which contributes to its overall vintage tone and retro sonic signature. Basing its design around diode-bridge-based compression, the SUCCESSOR brings in second-order harmonic distortion characteristics whilst helping to eliminate any harsh harmonic content.
The attack and release times are highly varied, something not usually found in conventional bus compressors. The flexible attack/release times allow you to shape your sound like no other vintage bus compressor. From ultra-fast attack to slow, VCA-style timings, the SUCCESSOR is one of the most versatile bus compressors available today. Complex sidechain filter and parallel compression
The ultimate tool for audio engineers, the SUCCESSOR also provides side-chain filtering with a unique design that allows for added control. Conventional compressors utilise high-pass filtering to achieve sidechaining whereas the SUCCESSOR with the addition of mid-band peak-style filters and high-frequency compression.
The onboard ‘Blend’ control allows you to utilise parallel compression without the need for external hardware. Audio engineers in New York championed parallel compression to the point it was nicknamed ‘New York Compression. This unique technique is perfect for rounding out flat-sounding drums and adding excitement to any sound source. The blend control allows you to slowly introduce the wet signal, providing absolute precision when dialling in your sound.
