PreSonus Ampire Overview

The PreSonus Ampire brings the sounds of your favourite cabs and amps into an intuitive plugin. Making it easier than ever to replicate the sounds of your favourite artists, all without the need for a professional studio. Ampire allows you to choose microphone type, placement and even polarity- meaning you can really find the sound you've been looking for.


Alternatively, if you already own a cab you love, Ampire allows you to create your own impulse responses (acoustic measurements of real-world cab behaviour). These can then be saved within Ampire, enabling you to record on your favourite amp, wherever it may be. To really make the most of Ampire, your virtual rig can be topped off with up to 13 effects, or any of the 5 included State-Space Stompbox emulations, to ensure your sound is moulded to your style.

Analog sound, digital flexibility

For the PreSonus Ampire Digital Delivery, the boys in Hamburg used their expertise in State Space Modeling technology to create amplifier and stompbox models that ensure the nuanced, variable sonic character of analog survives the transition to the digital realm. Five impeccable amplifier models are the heart of Ampire. Each is meticulously modelled with State Space technology to accurately replicate bonafide classics, with all their nonlinearities and dynamic responsiveness retained; critical for capturing the tone and character of vacuum tube and semiconductor-based circuitry.

Speaker cabinets do a LOT to colour the sound of a guitar rig: speaker configuration, wood, and cabinet size are all determining factors in the final tone. Impulse responses (acoustic measurements of real-world cabinet behaviour) and microphone modeling realistically emulate the performance of the 16 classic speaker cabinets found within Ampire. You also get access to a microphone edit page that provides control over microphone blend, plus polarity and balance for even deeper tonal customisation. There's even a convenient tuner included.
