Studio One 5.3 is the newest update to the award-winning DAW, offering new scoring features, creative production tools, live performance integration and improved workflow capabilities.
Improvement to the Sound Variations system for composers can be viewed in both Score and Piano view, whereby you can connect musical and dynamic symbol markings to Sound Variations. Functional with any orchestral library that features corresponding articulations, the integration of these symbols allows composers to add symbols to their score with virtual instruments responding to the articulations. Dynamic symbols are tied to MIDI velocity information with customisable values. Finally, the output mapping now includes MIDI channel information, taking in any adjustments you have made with your dynamic and musical symbols as part of the activation sequence.
Improved workflow comes in the form of extended drag-and-drop functionality. Now applicable in the 'Show Page' for virtual instruments, you can drag in a preset from the browser to your arranger window, creating a new track with the associated patch for on the fly editing and tonal shaping. This is also applicable with audio tracks when using plug-ins such as Ampire.
Ideal for changing arrangements and melodies on the fly, the new and improved Chord Track lets you audition new chord sequences by simply dragging and dropping. You can even drag an Audio Event directly to an Instrument Track to render your chords as a Note Event if the chords had been detected before.
Studio One was the first DAW to incorporate the drag-and-drop workflow that continues to be a key feature in the latest version. Whether you're using loops, MIDI instruments, plugins, or even presets. Absolutely anything can be dragged into your session from the DAW's revolutionary browser. This is ideal for allowing you to focus on what's most important, the music. You'll no longer have to break away from your creative vision in order to navigate through a sea of mundane, unnecessary menus. Feel free to copy FX chains over from another channel, and even switch MIDI to audio, and audio back to MIDI. Working in the box has never been so easy thanks to Studio One 5 Professional.
PreSonus fully understand the wants and needs of their demographic. They recognise that modern composers need the latest and greatest electronic sounds, whilst also having access to conventional scoring applications. That's why PreSonus have taken the best aspects of their renowned software, Notation, to be included in Studio One 5 Professional.
Notation allows you to view multiple staves simultaneously in order to work on voicing. The inclusion of the score symbol palette allows you to increase or decrease dynamics, as well as, adding tremolos, trills, and much more at any stage in the process. You are also able to adjust your musical editor view on a track by track basis to suit your every want and need. This is a unique tool, not common in the digital domain.
When composing and arranging, you want to be able to try out every idea possible. Thanks to Studio One 5 Professional, every avenue is yours to explore. Long gone are the days of monotonous transposition, cutting, and pasting in order to flesh out an arrangement. Scratch pads allow you to test your ideas instantly. Use these to make moving sections as easy as moving individual tracks. Stand out from the crowd. The included virtual and multi-instruments allow you to be innovative, creating sounds that are wholly unique to you. Thanks to the inclusion of auxiliary inputs, you can now incorporate your favourite hardware synths, rhythm machines, and groove boxes into your productions. Give your old toys a new lease of life!
Studio One Professional is the only DAW that incorporates songs and stems with mastered projects. If there's any changes you wish to make during the mastering process, revert back to the song page and make your tweaks. You'll find that the revisions automatically update so you can continue mastering without having to restart. How great is that! You'll be free to use your favourite and native plugins for equalisation, dynamic manipulation, saturation, and much more to create a polished, professional sound. With an extensive library of tools to help ensure your track is optimised for playback, you can be confident that you masters will sound good on any listening format. When you're ready, use the DDP export, CD burning, and direct upload points to distribute your music with your fan base, clients and team.

This is the ideal recording format for audio interfaces using 32-bit converters. The quality of the recording amounts to 64-bit/384 kHz, making Studio One the highest resolution DAW on the market. If you care about the quality of your audio choose Studio One 5 Professional.
Studio One 5 Professional now provides support for note controllers, guaranteeing more expression when programming software instruments and orchestral packs. This allows you unparalleled manipulation over individual notes and even multiple aspects if necessary.
The inclusion of clip gain allows you to save on CPU processing. You can instantly adjust parts that are too loud or soft, without the need for limiting or compression. Clip gain envelopes are sample accurate so can easily be used to fix clicks and pops that are commonly found in recordings.
