Three Selectable Polar Patterns & Stereo Mode

One of the most unique features of the Supernova microphone is the ability to switch between a range of polar patterns. The polar patterns are comprised of: cardioid, omnidirectional and bi-directional. The cardioid pickup pattern is ideal for capturing what’s directly in front of the microphone, making it great for vocal recordings. The omnidirectional pattern is perfect for picking up sound all around the microphone, ideal for ambient recording and use as an overhead. The bi-directional pattern captures audio from the front and the back of the microphone, making it suitable for interviews. Another mode is also included – stereo mode. The stereo mode is ideal for providing an immersive stereo field which can be great for ensemble recordings as well as other applications.

Design & Construction

The sleek yet robust, black metallic construction will blend into any setup seamlessly. The microphone also comes complete with its own desktop cradle that allows you to find the perfect position for your recording purposes. The stand is sturdy and stable, ensuring the microphone will not fall accidentally while in use. There are independent level controls for both microphone volume and headphone volume, as well as a control for changing the polar pattern. The front of the microphone also includes an LED display, providing information on levels and your polar patterns. For added versatility, the microphone is also fitted with a 5/8-inch screw thread, as well as coming complete with a USB cable and storage pouch for added convenience.
