To hear a demo of the ONE module in action, head here, and for a demo of the included VCTRS sound library, head here.
Included with the Tiptop Audio ONE module is a unique SD card loaded with 60 free and carefully chosen sounds from the 5 soundbanks that have been specially developed by Glitchmachines. The VCTRS sound library contains material from these 5 soundbanks in order to demonstrate the incredible range of sounds available on the other cards: PERC, SBSTRT, KERNL, HYBRD, and BENT. Each sound is sampled at 48kHz, 64kHz, and 96kHz. 48kHz allows for easy pitching up of one octave, 64kHz offers some upward pitch while maintaining much of the 96kHz fidelity, and 96kHz offers the purity of the source as well as the lowest latency possible for great performance.
The ONE module is equipped with a user selectable multi-function jack which can be used to handle external CV. Pitch is the main control with two available modes: Free Pitch and Quantized Pitch.
CV can also be used to sequence through files from the SD card, allowing for more varied sounds from a single source. The ONE module offers another useful dimension since it can play CV signals too. By dropping in a card with LFO signals, random CV, slopes, and envelopes, a whole set of new control and modulation possibilities open up.
Although the ONE module was originally designed to play tightly with Tiptop's analog drums and envelopes, its rich sound quality encouraged them to make it work in a variety of other applications that were less demanding of sub-millisecond timing response. The extra headroom at the core level allows features such as Gated Playback, Looping, and Triggering with fades in and out to accommodate different types of sound sources from drum loops to polysynth chords, to noise sources and other yet unimagined uses. The ONE module is simply to use, and plays perfectly with its analog cousins.
