When designing these reeds, Selmer knew they were entering a busy market. So they knew they had to be perfect. This is why Selmer spent over three years working alongside some of the best saxophone musicians around to develop a range of unanimously unbeatable reeds. And that's exactly what they did. They managed to develop the perfect profile which can be used in all genres including classical, jazz, and popular music.
Crafted to perfection
As with all Selmer products, these reeds are made using the finest materials. The Selmer reed story starts in the alluring and tropical region of the south of France. All of Selmer's cane is naturally grown here to ensure the fibre count is high to offer fantastic durability and a lengthened lifespan. After the cane has been hand-harvested, it is then bundled and left in the sun to naturally dry and age.
Many of the world's finest objects are handmade. But not even the most advanced craftsmen could produce a pack of reeds with this level of detail and accuracy. This is why Selmer employs a whole host of precision machinery to guarantee the quality and regularity of the cut.
