By combining a unique design with a range of practical features, Wood has made the Viper accessible for any standard of player. All Viper violins start as a piece of poplar wood and are cut depending on your configuration. The V-shaped body is reminiscent of vintage electric guitars and is carefully shaped to offer superior comfort.
The headstock on the Viper violin is also inspired by vintage guitars. Instead of using traditional violin pegs, Wood has decided to use a sealed gear mechanism. This type of mechanism holds tuning much better than standard rotary pegs, and also enables you to tune the strings differently if required. Unlike traditional violins, this particular model features frets. Perfect for playing in tune, these low profile frets allow you to use traditional playing techniques while also enhancing your overall accuracy.
The Viper violin features a newly developed chest system that offers support in both standing and seated positions. The system works by moving the strain from your neck and chin to your entire chest, allowing for more movement. Because of the chest's larger surface area and stronger upright position, you feel more comfortable and adopt a more natural position. This unique design is a forward-thinking solution for musicians who play frequently, and also enables you to take part in other activities such as singing and audience participation.
The chest support system has also been praised by musicians with back difficulties as it transfers all the weight from your neck onto your chest.
Through advanced design and construction, Barbera pickups are ideal for performers wanting the very best amplified sound. The Multi-Transducer design provides a full tonal range with balance and power - perfect for projecting your violin's sound. These are qualities which enhance the experience of performing, allowing you to relax and focus on creating music.
Every Barbera pickup is crafted with individual attention to guarantee to the highest quality. The high gain and high fidelity audio output is ideal for use with effects processing and high volume performances.
