The Gretsch G5191BK Tim Armstrong Electromatic Hollow Body is fully loaded with a range of carefully selected and engineered features to provide a one-of-a-kind tonal experience. Most importantly, the two Black Top Filter’Tron pickups are there to provide that classic Gretsch humbucking tone. These innovative pieces of kit are highly powerful, incredibly versatile and can be moulded to fit your own taste through the intuitive range of controls. On the neck, you’ll find those rounded and rich tones that are full of warmth and perfect for softer styles of lead playing, as well as barred or open chords. What’s more, on the bridge you can let your rock ‘n’ roll demon roam free, with a powerful output that will slice through any mix and pairs with the natural resonance of the hollow body for a vintage Gretsch sound.
The body itself is built using 5-Ply maple, complete with a matte urethane finish and flat black wrap. Extending through to the maple neck, this brings a brightness to the sound that will shine through when the bridge pickup is active. It will also contribute to a sturdy and long-lasting performance, and as the tonewoods lose moisture over time, the sound will mature – meaning you’ll be rewarded with tonal development over time and multiple uses. The fingerboard is rosewood, ensuring a supremely comfortable playing feel that will allow you to explore your creativity on stage, at home or in the studio.

The Gretsch G5191BK Tim Armstrong Electromatic Hollow Body is complete with an Adjusto-Matic bridge, which works in tandem with the graphite nut and die-cast tuning machines to ensure a stable tuning. This means you can say goodbye to re-tuning between every song. What’s more, these components also work together to hold a comfortable and fully adjustable action of the strings above the board, allowing for a silky smooth playability. The single cutaway allows additional access to the higher frets for an enhanced creativity. All of the hardware bares a gold finish which complements the dark matte finish for a truly luxurious visual feel that is reminiscent of the 1920s jazz band glamour.
