The Yamaha BB 435 5-String Bass Guitar offers an incredible range of tones, offering booming soundscapes without the need to de-tune thanks to the fifth string. The combination of alder, a maple, mahogany, and rosewood works together to deliver a versatile tone that can perfectly accommodate a wide variety of genres. Crafted into a thin neck profile, the BB 435's neck provides a smooth performance, while its 6-bolt miter joint tightly secures the neck to the body to improve the transfer of vibration from the strings to the body.
The addition of its vintage plus light bridge, designed with a unique 'diagonal through body stringing', offers less stress on the strings to improve sustain and resonance. Equipped with a set of custom V5 pickups to deliver classic BB tones, the Yamaha BB 435 Bass is the perfect way for players to fully express their creativity.

The BB 434 comes equipped with a set of powerful custom V5 pickups, paired with a split single-coil at the neck and a bar single-coil at the bridge. Thanks to this configuration you can enjoy playing a wide range of musical styles, offering the best of split and bar pickup tones. These custom V5 pickups deliver the vintage BB sound, offering a classic, well-balanced tone and an excellent articulation.
The pickups have been slightly updated to produce a brighter sound, allowing the bass to cut through the mix during performances. A single tone control and 2 volume controls provide versatile tone shaping, allowing players to dial in the perfect sound for their playing.
Crafted from lightweight alder, this model produces a smooth, deep bass tone with a beefy midrange and a slightly sizzling high end. Its strong, full-bodied sound works well when paired with the brightness of the maple, adding plenty of depth and dynamics to the overall tone.
The maple/mahogany combination of the neck delivers incredible stability, while offering the best of both tonewoods for a bright, mellow sound. The neck has been designed with an incredibly thin profile, improving its playability and feel to suit modern and traditional players, and coupled with a rosewood fingerboard for a complex high end and a smooth playing experience. The neck of this model has been attached with a 6-bolt miter neck joint, which offers a more efficient transfer of string vibration thought the body than conventional bolt-on joints. It holds the neck closer to the body to provide a tighter hold and improving sustain and resonance.
The bass’ vintage plus light bridge enhances the overall sustain and resonance of the strings by incorporation a unique ‘diagonal body through stringing’. This is achieved by angling the strings at the saddle to pass through the body at a 45-degree angle, placing less stress on the strings as opposed to the more traditional vertical stringing. This method allows the bridge to transfer the string vibrations to the body reliably and efficiently. The vintage plus bridge also allows the strings to be attached to the tail end and features an offset saddle for the low B string.
