The Roland Cloud D-50 Virtual Instrument is a faithful recreation of the now legendary D-50 Linear Synthesizer in a virtual plugin format providing a perfect sonic recreation of a classic. The Roland D-50 was groundbreaking when it was first released, with the birth of the LA engine (Linear Arithmetic) allowing programmers to create a new level of realism with pristine sounds. Utilising their custom Digital Circuit Behaviour modelling technology, Roland has meticulously recreated the original, capturing every nuance of the hardware synth.


From the late 80s to the early 90s, the D-50 was used on countless popular records, known for its rich tonality and realistic soundbank. Combining samples and synthesis made it one of the most sought-after synths on the market at the time. Whilst staying true to the original, this virtual synth version features a range of enhancements and upgrades. New waveforms have been included as well as a tempo-syncing LFO to expand your sound design capabilities.

Renowned for its realistic sounds and rich timbres, the D-50 changed the musical landscape for the better. The genre-defying soundbank is perfect for everything from pop music to RnB and even new jack swing.

Whilst staying true to the original circuitry and design, the D-50 software synth includes new features to expand your sound design capabilities. Extra waveforms have been added alongside a tempo-syncing LFO, allowing you to experiment and unlock new timbres. In addition to the original presets, the virtual plugin version includes a range of fresh new sounds and patches you can download for added inspiration. You can even use a virtual version of the PG-1000 controller to simply the sound design process, providing the means to create unique voices and tweak preset patches.
